"Partners in Learning"

Campus Life develops partnerships to provide meaningful programs, quality services, and personal growth opportunities for students in learning environments.

Campus Life promotes: Personal Excellence, Healthy Lifestyles, Leadership Development, Community responsibility.

Personal Excellence
Students are encouraged to perform their best in academic, interpersonal, and co-curricular endeavors. Students are encouraged to demonstrate initiative to seek and be openly receptive to collaborative learning opportunities in all areas of their university experience.

Healthy Lifestyles
Students are provided opportunities to assist them in making responsible decisions regarding their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Choosing a healthy lifestyle enables the student to develop lifelong behaviors for living actively, energetically, and fully in a dynamic state of wellness.

Leadership Development
Students are provided leadership development opportunities to become aware of and enhance their leadership skills. These competencies guide and support student involvement at UCF and in the community.

Community Responsibility
Students' responsibilities within the university and their respective communities encompass role modeling, a sense of ownership and the practice of good citizenship. Fostering these ideals provide students with tools to develop appropriate personal conduct while learning important life skills.

Traditions at UCF

LINK Luau
: The LINK Luau is a welcome event for freshmen students to get to know their peers before classes start. It includes food, games, and entertainment. By attending this event, students are able to gain points which can later be auctioned towards prizes such as tuition expenses, electronic devices, and theme park tickets. For more information, please visit http://www.link.ucf.edu.

Family Weekend: Family Weekend is a significant marker in the college transition experience. By this time, your student has probably experienced a variety of "firsts" in college: tests, projects, papers, mid-terms, football games, parties, and roommate challenges-to name a few. The chances are that as a parent, you have also been involved in these transition events. For more information on family weekend, please visit http://www.osi.sdes.ucf.edu/familyweekend/

Homecoming: Homecoming is a once a year, action-packed , fun-filled week of sports, entertainment, and tons of giveaways. A year is spent planning each day so that no detail is overlooked. Homecoming will leave you dizzy and exhausted from so much excitement!

Spirit Splash: Spirit Splash is a strong Homecoming tradition here at UCF. The Friday before the Homecoming game students fill the reflection pond to get excited about the upcoming game and enjoy homecoming week. Knightro, the band, athletes, cheerleaders, dancers, and other entertainment perform for the crowd, all pushing for a UCF victory.

Carnival: The Homecoming Carnival has Cotton Candy, Pie eating contests, and Favorite Carnival Rides! We're taking it back to the way it was meant to be.

Parade: The homecoming Parade is the best way to show your school spirit! This is it! The final stretch! The last hoorah before the game!  This is for all the money!  Floats, bands, loud music, and thousands of people.
